WEEKLY BRIGHT SPOTS

🧸 “The Teddy Bear Doctor”

In Vancouver, a retired woman named Ruth Hasman spends her time repairing worn and damaged stuffed animals from her home workshop. She has worked on hundreds of toys, fixing everything from torn seams and missing limbs to worn-out stuffing and broken voice boxes. When she can’t find the right material for a repair, she searches local thrift shops to match the original fabric as closely as possible. Many of the items she receives have been kept for decades and passed down through families, carrying strong personal memories. As she works, she listens to the owners’ stories, which often shape how carefully she approaches each repair.

🏠 Repairing a hole

In Oldham, England, a 78-year-old widower named Mike Watkinson needed minor roof repairs shortly after his wife’s death. A group of roofers approached him, quoted a small price, then repeatedly increased the cost and pressured him to pay, ultimately taking thousands of dollars and leaving his roof unfinished with a large hole. The situation left him vulnerable, with his home exposed and little recourse against the scammers. When another roofer, Denny Melia, heard what had happened, he came to the house with his team to assess the damage. He decided to complete the repairs at no charge, finishing the work properly.

The Matcha That Ruined All Other Matcha

As winter softens into spring, many of us crave energy that feels clean and steady. Not the jittery spike-and-crash kind.

That’s why I keep coming back to Sun Goddess Matcha by Pique. It’s easily the best matcha I’ve tasted.

In a market full of dull, bitter powders, this ceremonial-grade matcha stands apart for both flavor and purity. Crafted by Japanese tea masters and shaded 35% longer, it’s naturally rich in antioxidants and L-theanine to support calm focus and balanced energy.

The result is vibrant, smooth matcha that carries you through brighter mornings and fuller days. No spikes. No crashes. Just sustained energy that works with your body.

If you’re ready for a better morning ritual, try Sun Goddess Matcha here. 🌿🍵

🚀 REIGNITING SPACE EXPLORATION

NASA’s Artemis II mission marks a major step forward in returning humans to deep space — the first crewed journey around the Moon since Apollo. The mission is send four astronauts on a 10-day flight aboard Orion, looping around the Moon before coming home, helping test the systems NASA will rely on for future lunar landings. More than just another space update, Artemis II feels like a reminder that exploration is still alive. After decades of looking back on the Moon as history, this mission makes it feel close again, not as a memory, but as the next chapter.
